MAN" Kyle Smith of WYEP 91.3 FM has decided to do a feature spotlight on the newly released "Through My Eyes" CD by introducing "Mr. Man" on WYEP's Local News show. The local show is aired every Monday through Thursday starting at 10:00pm. So, please tune in and call the station in support of the song!!! The station phone number is 412-381-9131 or e-mail info@wyep.org. "Mr. Man" will also receive regular evening rotation for the next several weeks and could be moved up and other songs off of the CD added, depending on the listening audience's response. Please let WYEP know!!! The competition for airplay is extremely tough, so this is a true blessing and stepping stone to a recording contract and national airplay. WYEP also liked "It's You", so this could likely be the next song added if successful. I've also sent the CD to other independent radio stations and publications, so please check back for more details. 8/14/04: I want to send a personal thank you to everyone that took the time out of their busy schedules to join me in celebrating my 2nd solo CD release!!! Especially the musicians...all of which are my close friends. Once again, they gave of themselves UNCONDITIONALLY....although, I can't say that for everyone that came in contact with this project. I really learned a lot about personalities this time around, and are they ever unnecessarily complicated some times!! I'm glad I gained several new friends in the process!!! I got some great video from the release party. I am getting it ready now, so please look for it on the "behind the scenes" page in the next several days. I'm now in the process of doing all of the necessary FUN work of locating a publicist and manager. In the next several months I will be submitting my songs to: TAXI, John Lennon's Songwriting contest, IMWS Music showcase, and setting up auditions for bookings at: The Club Cafe in Pittsburgh, PA, The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, The Living Room in New York City and a venue in Los Angeles, CA (still not decided). I'll keep everyone posted as the story unfolds. WYEP 91.3FM is now reviewing my CD for airplay consideration. I'll give an update once I hear back from them. I received airplay back in 1993 with several songs from "Wings of Your Dreams", so I'm praying they will have a kind ear this time around, too!! I've also written a new song called, "Fall". I'll be doing a demo in the next couple of months and then add it to my songwriting page. Please look for it! I gave a special preview at the release party and performed it once or twice at The Waterfront in Homestead, but I'll be pulling it for a while. I have to keep it fresh! I'll be doing regular updates from now on, so please keep checking back!! Les |
